Hospitality Lighting Design in Greece
Hotels, restaurants, bars, cafés and beach clubs — lit so guests arrive, stay longer, and return. Complete lighting studies by an Athens studio shaped by thirty-five years of hospitality work.
The Craft
Light is the atmosphere guests pay for.
In hospitality, light is not decoration — it is part of the product. The same room can feel like a canteen or a destination, and the difference is rarely the furniture. Warm, layered light slows the pace of a space: guests settle in, order another round, and photograph the evening. Flat, careless light empties tables early.
Since 1990, fotoskiasis has designed the lighting of hundreds of hospitality spaces — restaurants beneath the Acropolis, beach clubs on the Athens Riviera, tavernas in the old streets of Plaka, seaside terraces from Voula to the Cyclades. We know how Greek hospitality actually operates: the long summer nights outdoors, the shift from lunch to aperitivo to late dinner, the need for every table to feel like the best one.
We work directly with owners, and as the specialist lighting consultant alongside architects and interior designers. Either way, the goal is the same — light that serves the concept, flatters the food and the faces, and pays for itself in atmosphere.
The Study
What a hospitality lighting study includes.
Concept & lighting scenes
A lighting identity for your venue, with programmed scenes for every hour — daylight service, aperitivo, dinner, late night — so the room always matches the moment.
Explore → 02Fixture selection & placement
Exact products, positions, aiming and quantities — architectural and decorative — so you purchase precisely what the design needs and nothing more.
See the lamps → 033D lighting visualisation
Photorealistic renders of your lit space before a single fixture is ordered. You approve the atmosphere, not a promise.
See 3D designs → 04Technical file & supervision
Dimming and control specification, electrical coordination, and on-site aiming and commissioning — through to the first fully lit service.
Discuss your project →How it works: a first conversation about your venue and concept · a site visit or plan review · the complete study with 3D visualisations · fixture procurement at dealer terms where useful · aiming and scene programming on site. One studio, accountable from first sketch to opening night.
Proof
Hospitality spaces we have lit.
Dionysos Zonars
A fibre-optic star ceiling and layered ambient light, with the floodlit Acropolis as the centrepiece.
Mojito Bay
Colour washes and warm uplighting through the palms, tuned for the long blue hour of the Riviera.
Notos
Cordless table lamps and low warm light that let the sunset and the horizon stay the protagonists.
Questions
Hospitality lighting, asked and answered.
Can you relight a venue that is already operating?
In most cases, yes. We plan the works in phases with your electrician — typically overnight or between services — so the venue keeps trading while the new lighting is installed and commissioned.
We already own fixtures — can you still design around them?
Yes. We audit what you have, keep what serves the design, and specify only what is missing. A study that reuses good existing equipment is a better study, not a compromise.
Do you design outdoor, terrace and garden lighting?
Absolutely — Greek hospitality lives outdoors. Terraces, gardens, pools, pergolas and facades are part of almost every study we deliver, from beach clubs to courtyard restaurants.
Do you handle dimming and lighting scenes?
Yes — scene control is the heart of hospitality lighting. We specify the dimming and control system, program the scenes, and hand your team a simple way to run them every night.
